1 yr 19 weeks: Wine Tours or Whine Tods 10-11-08

Just as we're unpacking from one trip, we are getting ready for another: Napa! (We're making up for 2 years of no day trips, and no road trips!

Many years ago, Ed I went there on a "Coastal Vaca Tour" for my birthday (which lands a few days before christmas) that started with Champagne and Cavier in Santa Barbara, then Pancakes the next morning in Solvang, then a picnic at Morro Rock, touring Hearst Castle, riding the famous Wine Train in Napa and ending our trip in South Lake Tahoe on a sleigh ride with Santa!

This time it was very different, we couldn't drive for too many hours due to baby pit stops: diaper changing, complaining, feedings, very differnt- but none the less very fun!

While grandpa and grandma Castillo went on the wine train with great grandma and pa Carrillo, we went to vist the Old Bale Mill. Then afterward we took the boys to Domaine Chandon where they were given cheeses and bread while Ed and I did a wine sparkling tasting- very fun! the boys rode their bikes all over Napa town! We even came across a family of deers running across the road- so cool!

We met up with all the gramps for dinner at the 5 star 26 Brix- where we needed months in advance reservations (of course we didn't know that) but luckily while their a party had canceled and we were quickly seated. As we were leaving our table, we were approached by others and gave us many cheers for having behaved toddlers (that made me very pleased to know we are raising behaved children)! Hopefully they were not the same people my kids would crank call at night when they would dial out from the hotel phones!
