Week 5- All Smiles! 7-07-07

I read, "Has your baby smiled at you yet? If not, he will soon. At 6 weeks, about half of all babies can recognize their parents, and many of those babies are so delighted that they welcome Mom or Dad with an excited, gurgly grin. This is one of the first signs that your baby is developing an ability to socialize. In fact, it's called a "social smile," and it's one of the more emotionally gratifying milestones you'll see your baby reach."

Yup, the babies are both smiling. Last week I noticed them really looking at me! Pitufo was crying with his eyes closed and his hand in his mouth. The always on schedules cry for food at 6:40am. Minutes late Max woke up. First he opened his right eye as if to check out if it was morning. Then slowly and with several attempts, he opens the left eye. I smile, for he inherits that ever fortunate “lazy” eye from me. I gently greeted him, “Chon, I love you…Where’s Pitufo?” and to my surprise, he looked me straight in my eyes and smiled. Eli is replicating Max by sleeping with his hands about his head. They poop more, it smells more, and it’s no longer cute!

I think you need to explain who is Chon, and who and what is a Pitufo so that the other readers know.

Edward Maximus is aka Chon (Short for Chonchis) which means chunky in Spanish and he is also known as Max and Phil calls him Stinky.

Sergio Eli is aka Pitufo translates to smurf. At times we also call him by his middle name Eli.

They smile so fast, it's hard to snap the picture.
