Becoming more Responsible

The boys enjoy taking on more responsibility in feeding Panfilo the Pony and Foster and Zacky (the hens). They remind me each afternoon and morning that we need to go feed them and the dogs too.

The boys aren't just learning responsiblity over pets, but also where their food comes from. Now with spring around the corner, we headed to a garden nursery to pick up celery, strawberries, asparagus, blueberries, and more lettuce. They are learning to taste super fresh produce as well as reduce their carbon footprint. Max is pointed at a monarch butterfly that he wants me to catch.
Sharing... snacks, toys and snacks. It isn't always easy for them to share and take turns, but it is so cool when I catch them sharing without me having to interfere. In the photo above where Max looks sleepy, he is sharing (food, i think) with Eli. At times, getting the to share can be worse than giving them a "time-out", but we take 5 second turns until one of them moves on to something more interesting or the snack runs out. This technique is also helping them with their counting skills.
