Week 23: Reach for the Ring! 11-10-07

The experts write, “The world is full of fascinating new tastes, textures, and colors for your child. Add the music of your voice and the familiar smells of home, and the mix is irresistible. Spoon-feed your baby, but also give him time to play with his food -- mashing, smearing, and squeezing. Let him hold the spoon. Who knows? Some of it might land in. Give baby pockets of quiet time and solitude, so she can digest all of her new experiences. The best time to rest is right before or after a nap. Learning how to soothe and amuse herself when she is alone is an important part of development.”
On week 6 dated 7-14-07, you can see Max taking a bath in his hospital bath tub/storage bin that they gave us. Here he is now in the same bin! I forgot to take their monthly baby picture photos on Nov 2nd. So I’ve decided even if a few days have pasted to go ahead and take the pictures. Photos are never too late to be taken.
They enjoy their Baby Einstein Learning Mat. Both babies reach and grab the rings and toys. With some motion, the star turns on and lights up with songs! We love watching them play. Their eyes widen with so much enthusiasm.
I made a Turkey Mask project in the infant class. I placed it on them to wear. Mask had no interest in the mask. He was to busy looking at the older babies crawling. When I placed it on Sergio, he instinctively began plucking my Turkey!!! I snapped a few pictures and took the turkey away from him. For the first time this week, they played with the classroom toys! Sergio was busy flipping a soft cloth book and Max was squeezing a square soft squeaky toy made of fabric.
Throughout the week, they enjoyed eating teaspoons of homemade Coaches’ Oatmeal, egg, and some steamed vegetables.
