Week 22: Our Pumpkins! 11-3-07

This week they’ve turned 5 months old and I feel like the boys each grew six more hands. They are constantly grabbing toys and other bright colored items. As soon as I take something out of their hands, they are already holding something else. It they can’t find something to hold onto, they grab me by my hair! OUCH!!

Besides grabbing things, they are learning to throw things. On Thursday, Max kept throwing his bottle out of his car seat. It was fine for awhile because I kept catching it before it fell on the floor. When I placed him in the car, unexpectedly he flung the bottle out! It hit the door as I was closing it and it ricocheted under the car. I could just reached under and grab it. I had to crawl under the car, and get dirty. I did not hesitate in leaving it behind. But I am not a litter leaver, so needless to say I got car mechanic filthy! Max has also learned to slap his lips together and make funny sounds and he also tries to suck on his upper lip.

Eli is more into grabbing his feet. He also makes this chalkboard screeching, ear piercing sound at 5 in the morning to let us know he’s awake! His high pitch sound continues until he’s out of breath and then starts the sound again. On Friday he did it for about an hour. Ed left the room and even went outside and said he could still hear him!

This Week was also their first Halloween. We spent the morning at my mom’s job. Then Ed, Monica and Audrey, Isaiah and Michelle joined us at the Whittier Halloween Spectacular. There were costume contests and lots of games and jumpers. Afterward, we gave out candy at home. They looked so handsome in their pumpkin outfits.
