Easter Eggs Hunt! 04-01-10

When the boys arrived to school, we placed homegrown sweet pea blossoms on the "living cross" in front of the school. After settling into class, the boys went to Easter mass at the school's chapel. Then they returned for the egg hunt. This is the first year we do an Easter egg hunt with the boys. Last year we worked on Easter and the boys spent the day with Grandpa Gerardo and Petra. This year they celebrated Easter at school on Thursday. The boys were so excited to pick up the plastic eggs- but then when one of the students popped it open and discovered candy inside, Max leaped out right off the bench and popped his yellow egg open too! His eyes widen with the word "CANDY!". Hints for us parents next year: There is so much stuff that can fit in those eggs besides candy: erasers, stickers, lil' ninja men, bootleg hot wheel cars, and individually wrapped crackers. After the egg hunt celebration, the class went back to there room to eat a special Easter lunch. They ate chicken strips (sponsored by Mr. Pedroza (thanks to Carl's Jr serving lunch items for breakfast)), grapes and baby carrots. Several parents including myself stayed to help Ms. DeAnna until the festivities were over. Since we were having the African killer bees exterminated at home, I opted to leave the boys at school until after their nap time. They had so much fun, I've decided to keep the plastic eggs and on sunny afternoons, we have egg hunts in our backyard. Majority of the eggs are empty and the fun of just finding them is more than egg-citing!
