Mom's day weekend! May 2010

This year, when I was asked what do I want to do for Mother's Day, I didn't hesitate. I wanted to go to Santa Barbara! As soon as we settled in the car, the boys fell asleep. We took a truck load of stuff: one suitcase for the four of us and 2 adult bikes, 2 kid scooters, a bike stroller, and a whole bunch of toys! The boys slept most the way, until about the last 30 minutes of the ride, when they woke up supper hungry.

We woke up extra early so the boys could get a chance to enjoy the skate park before the big kids arrive. Afterward we headed to Salvang for Ed's favortie, Paula's Pancakes House, then we hung out at a u-pick farm/farm stand. We also raided the Danish Mill for the famous sugar cookie buckets. We then headed to the boats to see if we could catch a tour boat, but everything was done for the day. So we decided to stroll the beach and relax after a busy day. Eli and dad went to look for sea shells, Max however didn't enjoy the beach. He noticed a ton of lady bugs crawling on the sand and began to cry thinking they were going to sting him like the bee! He cried the entire time and didn't want to get down from my lap.

As soon as we left the beach, Max felt much better and stopped crying. We rode our bikes around and called it a day. The following day, we attended the traditional Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. As we were walking to our table, I spotted the cheese section- my fave! I had the best melted brie cheese in the world! Later that day, we headed to the bike path where Ed and the boys rode their skate boards.
