1Yr 10 week: We're Dancin' the Night Away! 8-9-08

aug 3, On Sunday: We went to visit Eddie's Dad's side of the family. His dad Lupe invited us for Menudo. His dad's cousin (Chuy) and his wife (Elena) were there. We hadn't seen them since the boys' birthday party. We stayed there and chatted with them until almost noon.

Then on Monday evening Ed and I decided to build an airplane we had purchased for the boys since March! We are a great team in building projects, gardening and scrapbooking (the latter is exaggerated). Since the boys are older now, and enjoy playing, swinging and exploring, we decided this would be a great time for them to start using their plane before the evenings get colder. Afterward, we headed to our first summer concert of the season to hear the Mariachi Divas. Central Park bursting with music fans made it nearly impossible to find seating! We spread our blanket and unfolded our chairs almost an arm length away from the sidewalk at the opposite end of the stage. However, the boys did not mind it the least when they received a surprise visit from their grandparents! Of course, when the babies are happy, we're all happy. The boys took pictures with the Whittier Princess Court!

Tuesday, we mistakenly understood our beach visit as window shopping at Seal Beach and not actually sand and water playing at the beach. Even in their social clothes the boys enjoyed getting sand in their feet, hair and every tiny crease in their chubby bodies! Bryant and Carmen joyed us for a sun bathing experience! Just as the sun began to pierce our uv protected skin, we gathered our stuff and headed to a well shaded air conditioned restaurant, where needless to say, am glad the burgers were "buy one, get one free!".

Can we get enough of the water? "No!" The boys attend a splash party at a moms club member's home on Wednesday. Fortunately, we cut our visit short to get a glimpse of grandpa Gerardo who was going to be at our home. The boys enjoyed eating alfresco with their grandpa and playing on the porch with him. After grandpa left, I brought them were they continued to play and then suddenly fell asleep!

Thursday, we walked to Parnell Park where this summer concert played a Beatles Tribute. The band even dressed and talked like the famous Brits. This park was not as filled as Monday swaray.

Friday, the boys (including Bryant) spent the day with Ed and Grandpa.

Saturday, we went to El Mercadito in East Los Angeles for some gorditas. Yumm-o!
