With the "dog days of summer" upon us, we realize that school is just around the corner. We make an extra effort to get together with family and friends a few more times before the sniffle season begins.
On Monday, we met up with Carmen and Bryant at a halfway point (Grandpa Gerardo's house). We scrapbooked for a while until it was almost Bryant's doctor's appointment.
Tuesday was Max and Eli's 12 month vaccination shot. We requested the shots to be divided into sessions. After the doctor's visit, we went to see grandma Ruth. Then later that evening, we went to celebrate grandma Petra's birthday at the Elephant Bar!
Wednesday, Monica had her baby girl (she thought she was having a boy) and named her Julia Abigale. At 7am, we went to the Quad and came out on KTLA's early morning news with Gale Anderson! It was for a child safety seat check-up, and I found out the seats weren't installed properly. The volunteer staff showed me how to make the correct adjustments. I was part of the 80% who have their children buckled in improperly and don't know it.
Thursday, Ed grilled our dinner outside. The boys flew the seesaw plane for a until it was time to eat.
Friday, grandpa Gerardo & Petra invited us to eat at Avilia's El Ranchito, the same place were Eddie had asked for my hand in marriage! Rigo, (my uncle & Ed's best man) along with his wife Juanita (my aunt & matron of honor) and my ex-flower girl (also my cousin) and Valerie as well as Alexis (Peanut) joined us for dinner there. Carmen (my sis and maid of honor) and Phil (bro-in-law & usher) along with Bryant also attend the celebration feast. I think we were like 13 folks not including those under two feet!
On Saturday, the boys and Liz went to the Natural History Museum to see the dino exibit and the Wings Pavilian. Rigo invited us to eat at Joe's Crab Shack! The same folks from above went in addition to Jazmine, Joshua (my cousins) and Melissa (his girl friend). We had such a great week full fun and family activities! We should have family reunions like that at the end of every summer!!!
