Although the babies are too young to understand, they noticed something different happened this week. Great Grandma Maria passed away. This is the second family death they have experienced. I am so glad before she passed, she was able to hold and play with my little ones.
On a happier note, the babies are able to sit up for half a minute without any help. Then they topple over like bowling pins. Max shows his emotions and expresses himself more through his bubble blowing. When he’s frustrated or tired, he’ll blow bubbles as if releasing steam. If he’s in a good mood, he’ll blow bubbles in a whistle like manner in hopes you mimic him. If you repeat the sound, he’ll respond by blowing so more.
Eli tends to grunt in both good and frustrated mood. His grunts are like “hee” with soft e sounds. If he wants something he grunts fast, “He, he, he, he” if he’s tired, he will make the grunts sound soft and soothing, “heeeeeee, heeeeeee” and sings himself to sleep. Eli also blows bubbles when communicating to Max. And Max grunts to Eli. Eli is also getting abs of steel. Instead of rolling to see what’s going on near his feat, he will just lift his head. If he wants to sit up, he’ll lift his head and grunt at us. We’ll give him our hand and he grabs it tight as we pull up the top half of his body.
Both babies roll around to get to their toys. We spent everyday visiting grandpa and grandma Castillo. Grandma Petra still can not carry the babies, and they whip out smiles, reach out arms and even make funny sounds in hopes that she will lift them. Luckily grandpa Gerardo has no problems in lifting them both at the same time. Grandpa places Sergio on his shoulders and Sergio tries to grab onto grandpa’s few strands of hair! Max tries to reach for the ears or hold on tight to grandpa’s hands.
