The experts say, “Around this time, you may start noticing that your baby has certain favorite activities. For instance, he may take a predictable route while crawling around the living room, stopping to investigate a pile of magazines but ignoring a stack of blocks. His motions are no longer random or accidental; he is beginning to demonstrate intention and goal-seeking, pushing an object off the coffee table or even knocking his head against the wall to make you come.
Note: The information above offers general guidelines, but all babies develop differently, and few hit their milestones precisely when the conventional wisdom says they should. If your child was born prematurely, you may want to use your due date as a baseline for following baby's development.”
On Monday and Tuesday, family came from all over to say their farewells to great grandma Maria. Friends and family were so excited to see the babies. I went to give my Eulogy and left Eddie babysitting. When I returned to the food area, Eddie was babyless. Our babies went from arms to arms being passed around. They could not have been happier! Family immediately noticed who was wigglier than the other and who smiled more. “Your babies are sooo cute,” and “How can you tell them apart?” were frequent questions. Since everyone knew my grandma, I didn’t have to give my twin speech.
For a few weeks, they have been eating solids. On Wednesday, Eddie was drinking room temperature water and they thought it must have been food so they started to grunt at him. He slowly placed the rim on Sergio’s lips and he blew bubbles and spit into the cup. Next Eddie placed the cup to Max and he slowly sipped it. Eddie tried again with Sergio. After a few tries, he too was drinking from a cup.
Both babies have a slight cold and congestion so we have just been hanging out watching tv and drooling. While I knit, Ed skims the channels and the babies roll around and play peek a boo and decide to sing and want all the attention during a good tv segment!
Eli making an “Ohhhhh” sound while controlling the sound with his hand. He covers and reveals his mouth with his hand, back and forth continuously. We usually do this to them when they are crying to distract them and make them laugh. I guess Eli likes the sound, he does this to himself. On Friday, he grabbed my mom’s fingers and pressed them against his lips so that she could flap her hand while he made the sounds.
