Week 37: Love in the Air! 2-16-08:

This week Sergio began to stand (while being held) longer. He tries to take steps and thrusts his belly forward hoping his legs will follow. Max is exploring the whole house and finding lots of tiny things on the floor. We placed a carpet over some broken floor tiles. Max lifted the carpet and placed a tile in his mouth. Luckily Ed and I were standing by to remove it from him!

This week we celebrated Valentines Day. Ed and the boys gave me gifts: a card and scrapbooking supplies. The four of us had a quiet Valentines Day eating Roadhouse Grill Takeout and watching a movie. The boys love to eat the mashed potatoes and dinner rolls.

They spent Tuesday shopping with Ed at Baby’s R Us. He purchased formula and a small toy for each. On Thursday, we went to our Parenting class, where they played with flour. What a mess they made! Sergio wanted to eat it and Max kept squeezing it between his fingers. Afterward, they played with a toy house. Max enjoyed opening and closing the door!

Both babies are able to sit on their own for a longer time before tipping over. Last week, we purchased these squishy seats for them to sit on while riding in their wagon. Until now, they would be prompt up with my pregnancy pillow. But it is too bulky and they do not want to be lying down anymore. These seats are also great to feed them in while at grandma’s or at a restaurant instead of their car seats.
We are also practicing more sign language movements. Sergio already sticks his tongue out, and since that is the sign for “Frog”, we give him his toy frog whenever he sticks his tongue out. He now associates that tongue movement with his frog. Max signs “Dad” when Eddie is playing with him.

We are asking family and friends to take pictures signing their relationship to the babies so we can stick the picture in their sign language baby album.
