On Monday, when we went to pick up the babies from my dad’s house, Max and Eli were playing in the “formal” living room. Eddie waved “hello” to Max and he waved back. We were so excited to see him communicate with sign language to us. Grandma Petra also waved to Max and he returned the gesture. Eli crawled grabbed onto the top of a pillow and stood up for a few seconds! Since it was St. Patty's Day we went to the Roadhouse Grill for some steak and potatoes!
On Thursday, Liz took the babies to the Kidspace Museum in Pasadena. We strolled through an arbor that led to nowhere. And we climbed of the hill along a small creek. The path had different kinds of plants that kids are encourage to smell, feel, and even taste! The babies enjoyed reaching out of the stroller and touching the different textured leaves. At the top of the hill, was a cave that was very cool and refreshing inside. We kept going in and out of the cave. There were also dancing waters and an activity room that held a music session. The babies quickly picked their instruments and shook and chewed on them. We can not wait to go back next week.
Friday, they spent the day with grandpa. They must play a lot there, because when they come home, they quickly fall asleep!
Saturday, Eli woke up with a fever of 104’F! Liz rushed him to the hospital while Eddie took Max to his mom Ruth’s house. Later that evening the babies were presented in church. The event was very short notice because we had no idea our pastor was suddenly retiring! Pastor Frank and his wife Irene have held many personal services for our family: Ed and Liz’s wedding, Aunt Tachita and Lola, Grandma Maria, Grandpa Lupe and cousin Jr’s funeral. Presentations are not like baptisms. They are more like introducing a new member of the family to the church. Carmen and Phil presented Max and David and Michelle presented Eli. Pastor Frank also prayed for Eli’s fever to go down.
Sunday was Easter! Almost the whole family got together including some friends! Carmen (de Nazario), Joshua and Melissa came over as well as Rigo and the Gutierrez Girls (Juanita, Jazmine, Valerie and Peanut). Lucy and her girls (Monica, Audrey, and Heather) attended. Grandpa Gerardo and Petra along with Phil and Carmen were there. Liz’s friend Wendy and her son (our nephew Angel). From Ed’s side of the family his father Lupe and mom Lucia. Lucia’s sister and her son’s Raul and Miguel as well as Lucia’s mom also came. Ed’s brother Miguel and his wife Lily and daughter Daisy also showed up. Our cousin David and his brothers Jr, and Justin were there. David took his girlfriend Carina and her brother Cesar. We had a lot of fun crafting homes for the caterpillars and having an egg hunt for the kids! The grown ups had an egg toss. Ed barbequed outside and his ribs came out delicious! Ed’s already planning out all the fun games for next year’s event! Thank you everyone for coming over!!!
Happy to report Eli's fever went down and he is back to normal and both babies have two bottom teeth and are letting also sleep!
