This week we welcome Bryant to our "Boy Club!" It's now Max, Eli, (baby) Daniel, Anthony (the Blas twins), and Cameron as well as his twin Shayne (the Miller Twins), and now Bryant!
It was so exciting seeing Bryant so tiny and sleepy, and then I heard my boys searching for their echoes in the hospital hallway. Miraculously they grew quite (later I found out that Ed had taken them outside for a stroll). After we left the hospital we decided to hang out at our nearby park and eat ice pops. By the time we came home for dinner, the boys fell asleep while eating. I tried to wake them up because it was too early for bedtime, but they were just too sleepy. Luckily they slept the whole night until morning!
On Tuesday we had breakfast with Carmen, Phil and Bryant. I carried both boys into the restuarant since it gets complicated find a place for the stroller. Since I arrived late, I forgot my camera in the car. So far, the boys do not pay attention to Bryant, they prefer playing with Tri (Bryant's dog). After breakfast we headed down to the library. This was our first time at the Whittier Library and we made it just in time for a Toddler Reading and play time! The boys joined the Catch a Bug Pre-Readers Reading Club and became Caterpillars. From now until Aug 2nd, I need to read 16 books for each of the boys so they can attend a Reading Club Party. I loved the Childrens section of the Library, decorated with toy bugs and had small brightly colored couches and an adult rocking chair.
Wednesday, we stopped and smelled the roses and flowers at Blue Hill Nursery. The boys enjoy plucking small leaves from the herbs and tasting them. We enjoyed Shaved Ice at the Orchard Store and discovered that they have all you can eat BBQ on Weds! We stopped by Joanne Fabrics for halloween custom ideas and I saw a pattern for making teepees. Since it was at a discounted price I purchased it and decided to dust off my sewing machine and sew a teepee!
Thursday, we met up with moms from the Parenting class at the park. We called our good friend Beth and her daughter Mckinsey and they called up some of thier friends. We enjoyed playing in the water and the sand! Unfortunatly my car battery died at the park and we spent the rest of the day with the AAA guys; First they met up with us at the Park to jump start the car, then we had to wait for them to arrive at our home so they could replace our battery. Luckily, I was going to give Maribel a ride home and she stayed with us at the park.
Friday, Ed and I ran a bunch of errands in the morning. The he went with my dad to move some furniture around while the boys and I went to breakfast with Carmen and Grandma Petra and Bryant. Later, I hooked up with Eddie and when we went to drop off the rental truck we discover a new farmers market that open on Friday from 2-8pm! We stopped my and filled out a raffle card and info sheet and they gave us 5 bucks worth of free produce. I spotted a Dragon Fruit, I only know of this fruit because we have a dragon fruit plant that we planted last year and were told that fruit is harvest every 2 years. My plant being shorter than weeds, it became mutulated with a weed wacker earlier this summer by one of my brother-in-laws. With great care, the plant has continued to heal and is hopefully going to live. The boys tasted the dragon fruit and munched down half of it. My boys are growing up to be foodies!
