Enjoying the Last Days of Summer!

I always wanted to come home from school and have my mom greet me with a homemade snack and allow us to play outside on the street until dusk... alas, I have my kids and they can enjoy those simple pleasures... sort of...

Since the boys rarely eat sweets, I shouldn't have been surprised that they were hesitant in eating homemade watermelon/cantelope icepops (yup, I made two different kinds and while not hard to make, it was time consumming... So my heart was slightly broken, partly because I'm a graduated honor student from Le Cordon Bleu specializing in Pastries (it was good- I liked it, I got praise from our gardeners... why didn't the boys like it...) and the other part because I would have given up everything for my mom to do something like this for me... and they didn't even care for it...) Alas they tried it... and while they didn't finish it, at least they tasted it! lol

While the second week they didn't really want to go to school... they did ok... we'll enjoy the rest of summer learning to skateboard and using a helmet.
