We knew this day would come... it seemed so far away... we thought preschool is two years away, we have plenty of time to pick a school... then early this summer, I thought I had three months to check for schools... then I quickly discovered most schools had closed for summer... Luckily we found the perfect school, actually the only school that had returned my call for an appointment- Carden School of Whittier.
About a week after we toured Carden school, I was coming home and found La Mirada Friends Christian Preschool! Right away, they gave the boys a big welcome sticker and allowed the boys to play and get a "feel" for the playground, and they had so much fun I instanly felt the boys connected with this school! The next day, Ed went for a tour and also felt this was a good place for the boys to attend.
The day before the "Big Day" Ed bought them the movie NEMO (along with theme, matching balloons) where his dad takes Nemo to school. We had talked about school all week long, how they were going to make friends and learn songs and have lots of fun!
On that special morning, we dressed them the same and the shirts matched their backpacks. We packed double nap time blankets and a box load of diapers and wipies and we were off. When we arrived, they were so excited, they didn't stand still for the pictures, they wanted to race in and play. However, once they saw we were leaving Max began to cry for his dad. Ed quickly swifted him up. After about an hour of good byes, we finally left... When we went to pick them up, they were so happy they were playing with other kids and had made plenty of friends! Ed decided for me to go drop them off at school alone next time...
